Purple radish produces thin magenta-purple stems that are a about 3 centimeters tall. They are topped with gently lobed, heart shaped leaves that are dark purple and tinged in a dusty green. The produce a classic spicy radish flavor with fresh grassy notes. A member of the Brassicaceae family, it gets its color from natural plant pigments called anthocyanins. Anthocyanin is an antioxidant that protect cells from damage and help promote human health.
